Honoring Frank Richlan’s Birthday

Today, we honor the legacy of one of our firm’s founder, Frank Richlan, AIA (February 22, 1942 – September 10, 2003).

In 1982, Frank and his partner Herbert Beckhard established the predecessor to our current firm, Herbert Beckhard Frank Richlan & Associates (HB+FR), following Marcel Breuer’s retirement and the conclusion of Marcel Breuer Associates (MBA), where Frank served as a Partner.

To celebrate Frank’s lasting contributions to modern architecture, we’re sharing a curated collage of several of his works. These images highlight the clarity, rigor, and timelessness that defined his design approach.

Swipe to revisit these iconic projects and the enduring influence they continue to have on our practice today.
