For International Day of Play, MDSA is spotlighting Mosaic Pre-K Center at the New York Hall of Science, a project that reflects the essential role of play in early childhood learning.
In school design, play is not separate from education. It supports movement, social connection, curiosity, independence, and discovery. For young learners, the playground, classroom, circulation spaces and gathering areas all contribute to how they experience and understand the world.
Designed for NYCSCA, Mosaic Pre-K is part of MDSA’s long history of designing educational environments across New York City – spaces that support students, educators, and communities from the earliest stages of learning.
On International Day of Play, we celebrate the spaces that give children room to explore, imagine, and grow.
