Today, we celebrate the legacy of our firm’s founder, Herbert Beckhard, FAIA (January 28, 1926 – September 11, 2003). In 1982, Herb and his partner Frank Richlan established our predecessor firm, Herbert Beckhard Frank Richlan & Associates (HB+FR), following the retirement of Marcel Breuer and the dissolution of Marcel Breuer Associates (MBA), where Herb was a Partner and Frank a Senior Associate.
In tribute to Herb’s contributions to modern architecture, we’re sharing a selection of his early residential works—brought to life with archival images enhanced through cutting-edge image-to-video AI technology.
