This original hand-drawn rendering captures the early vision for Penn State’s Earth & Engineering Sciences Building, designed by Herbert Beckhard Frank Richlan Associates, the predecessor to MDSA.
Completed in 1999, the approximately 105,000-square-foot building brought together classrooms, research laboratories, offices, and specialized facilities in a distinctive modernist design.
More than 25 years later, the building remains an active part of Penn State’s engineering and research campus.
