Today, we honor the legacy of one of our firm’s founder, Herbert Beckhard, FAIA (January 28, 1926 – September 11, 2003).
In 1982, Herb and his partner Frank Richlan established the predecessor to our current firm, Herbert Beckhard Frank Richlan & Associates (HB+FR), following Marcel Breuer’s retirement and the conclusion of Marcel Breuer Associates (MBA), where Herb served as a Partner.
To celebrate Herb’s lasting contributions to modern architecture, we’re sharing a curated collage of several of his works. These images highlight the clarity, rigor, and timelessness that defined his design approach.
