Michael D. Szerbaty

Principal

An accomplished designer with 42 years of experience in architectural design, Michael Szerbaty has an extensive portfolio of work that encompasses small and large project types. His portfolio of work includes colleges and universities, healthcare facilities, Pre-K-12 schools, commercial, civic facilities and private residences. Clients include numerous city and state agencies, private clients as well as international clients. Mr. Szerbaty’s designs have received awards and been published in numerous journals and publications. His home in Arizona, Morning Sky House and Stable has been featured in three international books by Images Publishing – Architects’ Homes, Architects at Home and Solace in Nature.

Mr. Szerbaty is responsible for guiding and establishing strategic goals for the firm as well as functioning as the firm’s chief manager of a project’s development.  As Design Director, he is responsible for establishing the project’s vision and ensures that it complies with client goals. He sets project objectives, including the core mission, provides general oversight, and serves as a main point of contact with the client. From schematics through the occupation of a space, he is personally engaged in the process. He is responsible for the feasibility and realization of formal architectural elements and material selection.  As a team leader, Mr. Szerbaty is particularly adept at the coordination of large teams of consultants on projects involving complex technical and programmatic issues.

Mr. Szerbaty holds a Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Kentucky.  He is a Registered Architect in Arizona, New York, and New Jersey.  Mr. Szerbaty is an active member of the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) and the Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE).
